A Very Sweet Thanks

I am loving all this new stuff of mine! I cut into another new set of papers last night to create today's card. Stampin Up's paper series called Tea Party paired with their coordinate stamp set, Sweet Stems really caught my eye when I put them together so that is what I used to make a thank you note for the PTA at my kids' school. Since they worked so hard on our recent Family Bingo Night, I would like to show my appreciation with a very springy card. I also pulled out my new Martha Stewart edge punch called Embossed ZigZag for this card. I love how it looks along side the pierced corners.

So, without further ado...

I have always loved these SU colors together so I knew this paper series would be a must have. I love it! I suppose I better order another package because this one will be gone in no time. This card is a side fold, A2 card on Xerox ivory cover vellum card stock. The rest of my supplies are below. Please visit my Etsy shop if you are interested in purchasing this card for your very own. Have a wonderful day and thanks for stopping by!

  1. I love your card! I also just bought that MS border punch and you've just inspired me to get it out. These colors are gorgeous together and your paper piercing goes nicely with that border punch. Very nice job! I was wondering if the Studio G stamp you used was an acrylic stamp? If so, did you do anything to the stamp to make it stamp so clearly? I've had a few problems with those acrylic clear stamps.

  2. Emily, the Studio G is a clear polymer stamp. Ya know, one of those clear mini sets in the dollar bin at Michael's and JoAnn's? I used a small acrylic block and Graphite Brilliance ink to get it to stamp clearly. I tried it first with Memento dye so I wouldn't have to wait to color and it just wasn't clear enough. I have found that the smallest block that will fit the image and very gentle (and even) pressure will do the best. I tend to push too hard when I use clear stamps because I am used to using wooden stamps which are a little more forgiving than polymer. I also clean new polymer stamps really well with antibacterial handsoap (for the touch of alcohol) and a soft toothbrush to remove production residue before I use them the first time. This is a good cleaner for all clear stamps since I think typical cleaners build up on polymer. Alcohol won't dry the clear ones like it will red rubber so no worries! I hope I answered your question. Let me know if I can explain further. ;)
