A Little Bit of Spring

Hey folks! I have a card for you today. It is one of those kind that you make and it works out just as you planned it and you love it when it's finished. It just makes me happy. Wanna see it?

And I stamped on the inside too...

And then I wasn't sick of those funny monkeys yet so I decided to decorate the envelope too...

Do you remember that I didn't like the Changito monkeys at first? Well, I guess I got over it! These monkeys today are from the Changito Spring set by Stampendous. There are tons of adorable images in this set. That little frog just makes me laugh.

I colored with Copics and accented with a little bit of Ranger Glossy Accents. You might notice that I got a little bit of feathering on the envelope images. The card image is stamped on SU Whisper White with Memento Tuxedo Black. The card interior is GA Pacific White. Both of those yielded great results. However, Office Depot store brand invitation envelopes leave a little to be desired for stamping.

It has to be a quick post today since we are heading out on an overnight trip with the kids. It is their spring break so we want to so something fun. I hope you like today's card. Thanks for stopping by!

BRRRRR...In More Ways Than One

Hello! I'm a little later than usual but I promise I have a good reason. For one, I didn't have a card made because with my busy week (which included a sick child), I didn't get one made in time to have it photographed and ready to go in time to post here for yesterday. And the other reason is that we have had such bad weather that once my card was finished, it was too dark and cloudy to get a good photo. So tonight, out in the 16 degree evening, my hubby held a flashlight on my card, right outside our front door, so I could get a photo and not miss another day of blogging. Can you ever find it in your heart to forgive me? LOL! If you can, you can see my card and find out what I mean by my title up there. The "BRRRR" sums up my card and also describes the weather we are having in my supposedly Sunny South. We wimpy GA folks just aren't used to this cold snowy stuff! Maybe today's card will warm things up though. Take a look...

And then the inside is below. Please pardon the bowed look in the stand. With the wind blowing, the card just wouldn't stand straight when folded open.

This was one of those cards that involved a few detours before I arrived at the finished product. I changed the papers, the sketch, and the stamped image. Oy. Some days, it is a wonder I ever finish a project. That cute little monkey is another Changito image. Yep, one of the very same that I used to scorn. And that snowflake? I used my new Spellbinder Create-A-Flake die set. I just love those things! I will be sad when the time to use snowflakes is over. Maybe I will catch up on snow themed scrap pages!

My sketch for this card came from the SFYTT courtesy of Jen Del Muro. It was posted on the 19th of December...just a few weeks ago. At that point in the month, I was hurrying with Christmas preparations but it was such a cute sketch, I didn't want to miss it. I'll be filing this one away in my sketch book. It was a lot of fun to work on.

Well folks, this will do it for me. It was a very long day of snow, kids & hub home from school and work, washing wet clothes, and making endless cups of cocoa. I am pooped! Maybe I will get a little more scrap time in tomorrow. I sure hope so. Good night!

I Get a Kick Out of You!

Hello! I took a few days off but I'm back with a new card!I thought it might be nice to take a break from holiday and winter cards for a day and show you something different. I am almost done with my Christmas cards anyway. Before we know it, we will need Valentine's cards! Today's card is just one of those all purpose, friendly greeting kinda cards. Here ya go...

The inside of course...

As I have mentioned before, those Changito monkeys have grown on me. I didn't care for them but the newer, unmounted image/sentiment combos are really cute. This set is really versatile. I recently made a birthday card for a friend who has a soccer crazy grand daughter so I masked the plain ball and substituted the soccer ball from SU's set called All in the Family Accessories. It turned out cute.

My paper choices for this card came from my infinite stash. The DPs are Scenic Route and the card stock is from Hobby Lobby. I colored little monkey man with my Copics. I end up coloring monkeys the same way every time which is to use E44 and E42 along with a touch of R83 for the tongue. The ball is popped up on dimensionals. You can barely tell in the photo but there is a bit of sparkle on the shoes. I used the clear star gelly roll pen for the accents. Watch out Nike!

I'll be back tomorrow with a new card. If our weather clears up and I can go outside to get a good shot of a new card I made this week, I will have that one for you. It uses the new Ornament Trevor digi image from All That Scraps and it is wayyyy too cute. If it stays gray and yucky outside, it will be a snowman card that I made during the October Verve Release Party Challenges. Tune in because they are both pretty cute IMO. Have a wonderful day!

Bubbles + Monkeys = FUN!

Please note: I posted very late in the day yesterday after being away for several days so please don't miss yesterday's post. Scroll down to catch both posts. Thx!

Hi there! I'm back today with a new card using some cute stamps just as promised. I mentioned yesterday that I picked up a new image while on a work break over the weekend. Well, the image is one of those that you might see the first time or maybe a 50th time and it does nothing for you and then one day, you see it used in just the right way. It catches your eye and you not only like it, you MUST HAVE IT. Please tell me I am not alone and this happens to you. The image is from a series that I actually *hated* until seeing the image that I used for today's card. So, without further mystery...

The image and sentiment are by Stampendous and they are from the Changito monkey series. Up until this particular image, I just could not stand those darn monkeys. I don't know why. They come in every pose and theme known to man. I generally like cutesy images to a point. What is it about the Changito? Who knows but with the exception of these bubble blowing darlings, they are just not my cup of tea. Well, it turns out that Stampendous has released a whole new line of unmounted, deep etched rubber images. They come attached to EZ mount and they are very easy to use not to mention that I love being able to buy a single image and related sentiment without investing a fortune for a set of stamps that I only want to use one from the group. The new release has several Changito images that would have changed my mind if the bubbles didn't do it for me. You may see more if/when my PayPal account ever recovers from its current state of poverty.

So anywho...about my card...it is a little one, 4.25 inches square. My papers are some of the brand new My Mind's Eye Abbey Road line. I bought one sheet of this paper and made the most of it with the duplicates I made this time around. I made 9 copies of the card and I don't have even one sliver of a scrap left. I will be buying more! The Abbey Rd stuff is too cha-cha for words! I like them all...A LOT. Every one is more gorgeous than the last. MME has had some real winners this year. I have always liked their stuff but each collection seems to improve in some way. They really are great products.

I'm off to the rest of my day. It looks like our recent flooding may be getting better which means my county is back to business. Kids are back to school, roads are open, and hopefully, the poor souls that suffered damages are getting assistance. All this means that my errands can't wait another day. So you go and get busy too. Have a great day!
