Bone-Jour!

Update: I am pleased to announce that this card won the September Sketch Challenge on the OCL message board. Yay!!!! I am just thrilled. I won a free stamp set of my choice and they asked permission to base the October Sketch Challenge on one of my other cards. So, if you get a chance, stop by the OCL forum and play along with one of their great sketch challenges. They are a fun group of girls!

Hi guys! Have a card for ya today! I played along with the sketch challenge over at Our Craft Lounge. It was a great sketch to use. They have a few from the last few months of challenges that are worth taking a look at too. Here is my card...

The inside of the card is blank except for the coordinating stamped image...

My print paper is another lovely from My Mind's Eye Abbey Road. I mentioned before that this collection is fabulous. I just love these papers! I printed the sentiment on my computer and colored the images with my Copics.

I have to hurry again today. I still have not updated my supply list from a few days ago but I promise I have not forgotten. Have a great rest of the weekend!

I'm Diggin You

While you might expect a very groovy post after my 70's-esque title, it is really just a lead in to today's card using a stamp set that has really gone to the dogs. OK, enough puns and mystery...how about a card? I want to show you one that I worked on a little while ago and just never got around to posting. I have another in progress on my desk but it won't be ready until later so here ya go...

I used a favorite set by Our Craft Lounge called Pat the Bad Dog and for the sentiment, I used Pat the Dawg House. I love how all those Pat the Dog sets work so well together. It is one of those simple cards that could be used for a friend or a significant other. My kids even got a kick out of it so kids would enjoy it too. On the inside, I left it without any more wording but stamped one of the coordinating border stamps of a dirt bed that had obviously been "dug."

My paper choices were some oldies from my stash...more of me trying to use up my copious amounts of printed paper. I colored the images with my Copics. For some reason, I color Ole pat the same way every time. He is just too cute as a brown dog! I need to branch out and make him a Dalmatian or something. I think he may be bored with brown LOL!

I think that's it for me today. I hope everyone has a fantabulous weekend. I will be doing the housework thing and hopefully stamping a little while the hub watches college football. Even though I am NOT a sports fan, I do love college football season because that means while the hub crashes on the couch for as many games as he can manage, I am at my stamp desk in the same room playing happliy with my toys. The best thing we ever did was move into our current house with our lovely bonus room that holds his favorite flat screen TV and a leather loveseat as well as my scramp stuff. I happily share my craft space with him so that we may peacefully coexist. He has a TV and a computer and I have my toys so there is never an argument about how much time one of us spends at our favorite pastimes. We are together and occupied with an activity we love. Who could ask for more? Happy Friday!

Papers- Imagination Project Woof!; Bo Bunny clover dot. Stamps- OCL Pat the Dawg House; Pat the Bad Dog. Inks- Memento Tuxedo Black. Tools- EK (1 3/8 & 1 1/2in ) circle punches; Michael's ribbon. Embellishments- favorite findings buttons. Pens- G94, YG03, R37, E57, W1, E02, E31, E37, C7, E33, Booo.

No Bones About It...

It's good to be home from vacation! We had a great time and my kids thoroughly enjoyed themselves ( as did their parents!) but Dorothy was right...there's no place like home. And for a scramper like me, being away from my stuff is just hard. No matter how busy I am, doing really fun things, I am always thinking about my next project...that picture of the kids is so cute, it's going to make a great page...oh look at those flowers, I'll have to remember that color combo for a card...and so on. I think that means I am hooked in the worst way, huh? Which brings me to today's card. I sat down at the first opportunity to stamp a little and worked on Jen Del Muro's SFYTT from this week. What a fun sketch! It worked really well with some new stamps of mine too. I finally broke down and ordered Pat the Dawg House from Our Craft Lounge. I already had Pat the Bad Dog but what dog is happy without a dog house? Not Pat! So, how about a card?

I don't have any apology cards in my Etsy shop so I thought one was in order. You never know when you might need to smooth a few feathers with a kind word. Pat the Dog can help you. I like cards that include a snetiment that is split between the front and inside of the card. This sketch is just darling despite its simplicity. I'll be happy to answer any questions though. Just let me know! I hope your week is off to a great start. Thanks for stopping by!

A Doggone Cute Card

Howdy! I took a day off. My kids are home for Spring Break so my computer time will take a hit this week. I did make a new card last night after they went to bed so I thought I would get at least one post in this week. No guarantees for tomorrow though!

My card today is another little one. It is 4.25 inches square so it will fit in a regular A2 envelope. I pulled out my
Pat the Bad Dog set again. I don't think I will get sick of this one for a while. That dog is so darn cute and he colors well too. So, here he is...

I pulled out some older paper from my stash because I was in the mood for some darker colors. Everything I have done lately is soft and springy. When I started designing this one, I had my son in mind as the recipient. I kept thinking I wanted to make a card that wasn't too cutesy but still appealing to a younger child. My son is 8, soon to be 9. He can still appreciate silly puns and cute characters but they can't be what he considers "babyish." Fine line, I guess. I don't know when I will give it to him and of course, I made several so I could list a few in my Etsy shop.

I will list my materials below in case you are wondering about something. As for the rest of the week, I will do my best to keep up with posting but when the rug rats are home, they will be begging for silly things like lunch and breakfast (:D) so I will have to tend to them. All you moms know how it goes. Right? Have a great week!

Doggone It, I'm Thrilled!

I finally ordered a stamp set from Our Craft Lounge and I could kick myself for not doing it sooner. My new set, Pat the Bad Dog, is ADORABLE and so much fun to color. I love crisp, clean lines with plenty of defined areas to color and all of the sets from OCL fit the bill. I can't wait to order lots more. I chose one of the clear, polymer sets but they sell rubber stamps as well. I couldn't be happier with the quality of their products. Well done!

So for my card, I used my Bad Dog set and stamped it on another fav of mine, Gina K Pure Luxury cardstock. I colored with my Copics, of course. Aren't I predictable? Since the image panel was on the large side, I kept the front of the card simple. The inside of the card contains the remainder of my sentiment and a little further embellishment. This card was intended to be my entry for the OCC Limited Supplies Challenge this week but I ended up with too many layers. Oh well. There is always next week, right? So, take a look! The second photo is of the inside of the card.

I am sorry that my photos are a little dark. It was overcast outside when I took these and now I see my images are a little dim. This time of year makes it very difficult for me to get good card pictures. My house lacks a good spot for lighting my projects and I count on going outside for my photo shoots. If the weather or lighting isn't up to par outside, I am in trouble! I will try to reshoot these when my light is better. This card is a bright, cheery little greeting and the shadows make it look a little dreary.

I mentioned a few of my supplies above but the rest are below. I will be listing this card in my Etsy shop very soon if you are interested in buying it. Enjoy the rest of your weekend and thanks for stopping by!
